BARANGAY IGCATAMBOR


Brief History

Igcatambor in San Rafael Valley is 5 kilometers from the national road and 13 kilometers from the poblacion. It is easier to reach the place through Igbugo and Narorogan in the Oyungan Valley.

It got its name from a hill shaped like a drum. Early residents called it tambor and changed it later to Igcatambor.

Past heads of the place were Blas Fandagani, Juan Paro, Prospero Sedicol, Simeon Paro, Eulalio Fandagani and Benjamin Fandagani. The longest term is that of Felix Fandagani (1938-1959) and (1964-1979)

Residents of this place observe the feast of San Joseph in April.

Objectives

  1. Improvement of barangay and provincial road.
  2. Development of forestry and watershed areas where supply potable water is scarcest.
  3. Improvement of health services in the barangay.

Strategies/Proposed Priority Projects

  1. Strengthen linkages and coordination with provincial government regarding improvement and maintenance of provincial roads.
  2. Strengthen engineering capability on roads improvements and maintenance.
  3. Identify watershed areas.
  4. Conduct tree planting on watershed areas.
  5. Strict implementation of measures to protect watershed and forestry areas.
  6. Optimize presence of health personnel in the barangay.
  7. Improve equipment and facilities of health station.
  8. Provide enough medicines.
