BARANGAY MABAYAN


Brief History

This tiny barangay is on the opposite side of Barangay San Jose, Oya-oy River, from Barangay San Jose. A small tributary of he river winding near the barrio site gave Mabayan its name. There are big black stone and many of them jutting out on the rice field give this place a peculiarly scenery.

Former tenientes were Ceriaco Fortes, Fermin Noble, Celedonio Perez, Alfredo Molavizar (1940-1945) and Jose Niņora (1956-1957). Alfredo Molavizar came back to head the barrio again (1958-1971) and was succeeded by Barangay Captain Elardo Morenincia (1972-1989), Eugenio Nedula (1989-1994), Alma Faura (1994-1997), Eleuterio Farochilen (1997-2002) and from 2002 to the present, the barangay was headed by Punong Barangay Arnold Naragdag.

Mabayan's World War ii casualty was Consolacion Fauchano. This place share same patron saint as that of Barangay San Hose which is celebrated every January 19 but in 1992, Barangay Mabayan started celebrating its fiesta in honor of San Lorenzo Ruiz every first Saturday of December.


Vision/Mission

To achieve the improvement of the barangay and the good governance which is the hope and the dreams of everyone. The Sangguniang Barangay of Barangay Mabayan dreaming that may this coming years the barangay will be progressive, peaceful, joyful, have a good cooperation to each other, unity, good relation to each other, good implementation of Clean and Green Programs, good transportation, good productivity, have an easy way of life and most of all it will be known as little but beautifiul barangay.

Objectives

  1. Increase barangay income.
  2. Improve barangay economy.
  3. To finish on-going barangay footwalk.
  4. Implement Solid Waste Management Program.
  5. To improve barangay administrative programs.
  6. Maintain barangay agricultural facilities.

Strategies

  1. Honesty and wisely used implementation of projects.
  2. To furnish or pass resolutions requesting financial assistance to the higher level of politics and government leasers for the barangay projects and development.
  3. Bayanihan program.
  4. Creation of multi-sectoral barangay cooperative program.
