BARANGAY NACLUB

Brief History

Naclub is the biggest barangay in the Bacauan Valley. Also one of the center barangay among other neighboring barangays, a mother barangay as what the others called. According to the old folks, it was once named Bitaoyan River and the name Naclub came from "nakulbaan kang bukid" because it was surrounded by mountains. It was founded by Teodoro Fillone, moniker Oroy. The first head was Eleno Fillo. Other were Francisco Naorbe, Juan Fillo, Tomas Fillo, Alejandro Naorbe, Ofemiano Nalitan, Esteban Naig, Primitivo Napao (1954-1955), Nicanor Napao (1956-1967), Salvacion Napao (1968-1971), Teodoro Magallanes (1972-1988), Cresencion Naig (1989-1993). Naclub is presently administered by Barangay Captain Salvador Naig from 1994 to the present. The barangay has 12 tanods and 3 lupon tagapamayapa, Romeo Nagdaparan as Chief Tanod and former kagawad Tomas Napao Jr as Chief Lupon.

The school in Naclub was established in 1930-1931 with former Cristeta Villavicencio as the first teacher. She stayed in the school for 29 years. Her husband, Praxedes Calahong of Buga, Leon, Iloilo also taught there. Presently, the two teachers are already a proud product of the said school and of Barangay Naclub. They are Elvira Famisaran and Asuncion Mombay. The other teachers are Maricar Pasalgon. Sevilla Moreno, Orlanda Langga and Sol Octaviano as head teacher.

The place was burned three times before World War II, the last was on November 29, 1941, nine days before the outbreak of the war.
