Barangay Ubos Ilawod is situated at the lower portion of the poblacion. It got its name from its location which is in lower area in the south where it lies or in common dialect Ubos Ilawod. It has an approximate land area of 18 hectares more or less and its is a junction of Tumagboc River on the east.
Before the last war, aside from Canuto Naluaran, Pedro Nismal also served as barrio teniente of Ubos ILawod. For thirty years (1960-1990), this place has been administered by Jose "Lata" Naldoza.
Naldoza acquired improvements fro Ubos Ilawod including a semi-concrete barangay hall and a concrete waiting shed. The hall serves as a recreation and reading center, polling place during elections and a chapel during religious festivals. There is a concrete dike in Ubos Ilawod built during Mayor Orbe's time.
In the year 1991-1994 Rosario Fradeza administered the barangay then succeeded by Enrique Legaspi in the year 1994-1997, in the year 1997 the barangay is administered by Mario Roger Naldoza but the year 1998 was administered by Lilia Moreno as OIC Punong Barangay up to the year 2002.
Presently, the barangay was administered by Punong Barangay Ramon Napud, the new face in the barangay leadership in Barangay Ubos Ilawod. The priority proposed project of his administration is to put up a Day Care Center and to re-channel Tumagboc River that is within its area of jurisdiction for sportsite. The recognition or award naming the barangay as one of the cleanest and greenest barangay in the Municipality of Miag-ao is maintained by the new set of barangay officials and with the cooepration of the people of this barangay.
The barangay has its slogan "Tikang Ubos Ilawod Para Sa Kauswagan."
