BARANGAY BELEN


Brief History

Belen was formerly known as Balaquibao, named cutting to the barrio site. When Captain Silverio Tajanlangit became town head in 1883-1884, he changed it to Belen. The barangay faces Barangay Wayang on the other side of San Jose-Oya-oy River. The early heads of this barangay were Hugo Naquitquitan and Ruben Fauchano followed by Anastacio Failagao. Jose Fauchano (1951-1952)(1956-1959), Ricardo Micmic (1960-1963), Eustaquio Moman (1968-1971)(1972-1989) headed by Estrilla Nagpaton (1993-2002). The present head is Edgardo Nicmic.

During that time the barangay was celebrating its fiesta joining Barangay San Jose in honor of St. Joseph every January 19. But it is celebrating its fiesta every December 26.


Vision/Mission

Improvement of the water system. Construction of a barangay road. Improvement of the barangay chapel and barangay hall. Putting-up of streetlights.

  1. Implement projects for the improvement and peace of the barangay.
