BARANGAY CAVITE


Brief History

Barangay Cavite is located at the east part of Miag-ao, Province of Iloilo. It is a hilly place almost hidden by the coconut trees, bamboos and other trees. It is 7 kilometers from the town proper. The women in this barangay weave a patadyong and mosquito net while the man farm and raise cattle.

The past heads of this barangay were Vitorino Perez, Tomas Nalumen, Maximo Febreo (1946-1947), Maximo Perez (1948-1951), Rosendo Napilay (1952-1953), Felicisimo Perez (1954-1955), Felipe Nalumen (1956-1959), Dominador Perez Sr. (1960-1963), Serverio Fermocillo (1964-1967), Erineo Fajurado (1968-1988), Ramon Perez (1988-1989), Letecia Famillaran (1990-1996), Lucia Nalumen (1997-2001) and the incumbent head is Punong Barangay Nora Bito-onas.
