BARANGAY KIRAYAN TACAS

Brief History

This elevated place is three kilometers from the poblacion. It is accessible by an ascending foot trail from Camp Monteclaro.

It is used to be a sitio of Kirayan proper and administered by an encargado until it was declared a separate barrio. It is called Kirayan Tacas because it is located above the barrio proper.

Past heads of the place were Leonardo Naldoza, Mateo Nono, Pedro "Edoy" Naldoza (1935-1940) and (1957-1964). Daniel Naldoza (1971-1987), Alberto Naldoza (1987-1994), Dindo Naldoza (1994-1997), May June Yandor (1997-2002) and at present, the barangay is headed by Punong Barangay Elvira Piccio (2002-2005).

The women in this place is a good and well known maker of baye-baye, ibos and other native delicacies.

To have a clean, peaceful, friendly, progressive, happy, helpful, hardworking and God fearing people living in the community.

Objectives

  1. To construct water supply system.
  2. To decrease the unemployment problem.
  3. To increase funds for livelihood programs.
  4. To finish the two-storey barangay hall.
  5. To improve our Day Care Center.
  6. To construct street lights.
  7. To improve peace and order.
  8. To improve barangay roads and canals.
  9. To create a recreational facilities for the youth.

Strategies/Proposed Priority Projects

  1. To seek aid from national government and other agencies.
  2. To coordinate with the municipal government regarding the program in mobilizing youth for responsive national advancement.
  3. To seek aid from national government and private agencies regarding livelihood programs.
  4. To seek aid from national and provincial government.
  5. To seek aid from national and provincial government to construct street lights.
  6. To conduct seminars and trainings, invite speakers regarding drug addiction and other topics concerning peace and order.
  7. To seek aid from national and provincial government to improve barangay roads and canals.
  8. To raise funds for creating a recreational facilities for the youth.
