Brief History
Barangay Palaca is one of the populous barangays in the Municipality of Miag-ao. It is 3 kilometers away from the poblacion
with a total land area of 256.0886 hectares. A total population of 2,086. The barangay has a registered voter of 835 and 410 households. There were two existing cooperatives in the barangay, the Farmers' Cooperative and the Palaca Credit Cooperative
Its name originated from the word "laca" means "rare." Most of the residents are
engaged in farming and fishing.
Vision/Mission
We, the Sangguniang Barangay members of Barangay Palaca, Miag-ao, Iloilo under the guidance of Divine Providence, commit ourselves to promote social justice,
enhance economic development, improve the quality of life of our constituents in a more compassionate and humane way.
Objectives
- To help prevent untoward incidents that affect peace and order.
- To maintain healthy body and mind of the populace.
- To protect the road from the rain damage.
Strategies
- Ask for the financial assistance from municipal, provincial and national governments.
- Seminars, health education and information drive on proper nutrition.
- Request the DPWH for the implementation of canalization.
