BARANGAY SAG-ON

Brief History

The name of the barangay came from the plant called Sago. This plant grows abundantly in the place before and even until now. Japanese during World War II were amazed of these plants surrounding almost the entire barangay. When they asked the name of the plant, they were told that it was Sago but they wrongly heard the natives that instead of sago, they heard it as sagon.

It is believed that Japanese gave the name of the barangay through the plant sago.
