BARANGAY TIGMARABO

Brief History

Before World War I Barangay Tigmarabo is  already existing but without name. People living by means of kaingin, they sow crops like ube, kamote, kamoteng kahoy, gabi, etc. The people resided this place without disturbance from any rebelious group. One day a group of Negrito resided in this place temporarily. Since they have nothing to eat, they steal the crops of the people of the barangay. The people do not know who are stealing their crops until one day when they witnessed a kaingin where the Negritos are cooking crops stolen from the barangay and while they are eating, they are talking in dialect and telling each other that the crop is "marabo.". Upon seeing this, the people of the barangay got angry and chased the Negritos away from their place. After chasing the Negritos away, they went home but they keep in mind the term "marabo" used by the Negritos while eating their crops. Thus, the name of the place become Tigmarabo.
