This place is secluded and out-of-way barangay in the Naulid Valley 7 kilometers from the poblacion, passing through Durog and Baraclayan.
The Barangay has a sitio called Bongol San Luis. Its former sitio, Baraclayan is now a separate barangay.
The founder and first settler of this place was Hilario Ningal. He was joined later by the Nequias, Leocario, Eusebio, Gregorio and Lorenzo and Tomas Nono.
Maricolcol is hilly hence less productive. Most of the lands are rain field. Women are engaged in weaving patadyong while the men farm and raise cattle.
Barangay hea were Hilario Ningal, Leocario Nequin, Florentino Nequinto, Patricio Nonay, Jesus Mondido, Simpliscio Mondido, Francisco Nuangay. Baldomero Notumay (1960-1963), Antonio Felipranda (1964-1967), Sofronio Napatud (1968-1979), Joaquin Moran (1980-1986), Felipe Felicisimo Jr. (1987-1994) at present, the Punong Barangay is Jose Jerry Felicisimo.
Maricolcol patoness is Nuestra Seņora de Salvacion whose statue was donated by Mrs. Salvacion Nim and her feast is celebrated every March.
