THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ADMINISTRATION

The local government administration is headed by the Municipal Mayor. Assisting the Local Chief Executive in the implementation of different programs and projects of the municipality and running its day to day affairs are thirteen (13) heads of different offices and one hundred sixty eight (168) members of rank and file employees, to include hired casuals and contractual laborers.

There is a Vice Mayor who heads the Sangguniang Bayan (Legislative Council), the latter of which is composed of eight (8) regular members of the council and two ex-officio members - the President of the Pederasyong Pambayan ng Sangguniang Kabataan (Municipal Federation of Youth Councils) and the President of the Pambayang Liga ng mga Barangay (Municipal League of Barangays).

"A self- reliant, peaceful, progressive, environment-friendly Miagao inhabited by morally-upright citizens, an education center and major tourist destination in the Province of Iloilo."

Also assisting the the local administration are the provincial and national offices with stations in this municipality, such as the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), the Philippine Postal Corporation, the Department of Education (DepEd), the Bureau of Telecommunication (BuTel), the Population Commission (POPCOM), the Municipal Trial Court (MTC) and the Miagao Water District (MWD) which is under the supervision of the Local Utilities Waterworks Administration (LUWA).
