This place is named after a bamboo variety called bagacay.
Its neighboring barangays are Igdalaquit, Cabangcalan, Naclub and Tig-apog-apog.
Barrio heads were certain Agoy, Leonales, Mariano Fillone, Hermogenes Desengaņo, Zacarias Nalagon and Eriberto Nalagon headed the place before and during World War. He came back to serve again in 1952-1955. Other post war heads are Thomas Mutas 1946-1947. Serafin Nalagon 1948-1955. Teborsio Nalagon assisted by Felix Naorbe 1956-1957. Serafin Nalagon and Tranquilino Desengaņo 1962-1971. Teborsio Nagalagon 1972-1979. World War ii casualties are Gregorio, Elias and Lilina Elisalde. Jose Naorbe Jr. 1979-1982. Rey Nalagon 1997-2002. Barangay Tigbagacay celebrates its annual barangay fiesta in December 27-28 in honor of Nuestra Seņora de Guia.
